About NIELIT
Introduction
The establishment of NIELIT has been done with an objective to develop Human Resource in the area of Information , Electronics and Communication Technology by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Earliest it was known as DOEACC Society which is now named as National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology ( NIELIT). NIELIT also accredits organizations and institutes in India for conducting various important non formal sector’s IT courses and certifications.
One of the key focus area of NIELIT is to engage in development of industry oriented quality education and training programmes.
Presence of NIELIT
The presence of NIELIT is largely visible to all major Indian cities and states. They own around 35 office located from Guwahati,imphal to Patna and many cities. Apart from these offices , their network is throughout India with the majestic presence of about 800 institutes in the country. The Headquarter of NIELIT is situated at New Delhi.

NIELIT gained popularity in ICT community over the last two decades, the courses run by them mainly are
- ‘O’ Level (Foundation)
- ‘A’ Level (Advanced Diploma)
- ‘B’ Level (MCA equivalent)
- ‘C’ Level (M-Tech level)
Other than these courses NIELIT also offer courses in IT literacy such as
CCC (Course on Computer Concept)
BCC (Basic Computer Course) and other such long term and short term courses.
